A farmer by trade, Ivar began exploring biogas on his farm in 2003 by building a small farmscale biogas plant utilising manure and other residue from the farm. Working with scientists from the Norwegian University of Agriculture and several other research institutes who at the time were looking into the benefits of biogas.
In 2008, the politicians in the region initiated a public industrial project – The Magic Factory. Ivar became part of this project in January 2009 and has been involved ever since, along with being engaged with the Farmers Union to study and document the possiblities and benefits farming could receive by utilising biogas substrates from an industrial biogas plant and supporting politicians in their effort to convince their colleagues of the effectiveness of The Magic Factory.
More recently Ivar has been working as Ass. CEO at Greve Biogass.
