Gisela Provasi
LOW-Methane Project Director, C40 Cities
Gisela Provasi leads the LOW-Methane initiative (Lowering Organic Waste Methane), a coalition of more than 20 organisations focused on accelerating the delivery of the Global Methane Pledge Waste Pathways via action at the subnational level. For the past 6 years, Gisela has supported C40 member cities in adopting inclusive climate actions in the solid waste management sector, mostly in the Global South regions, building political commitment, leadership and technical capacity. Gisela also acts as a mentor at Youth Climate Leaders, has completed training with The Climate Reality Project and is a lawyer registered at the Brazilian Attorney Association (OAB/SP) with experience at the private and public sectors in Brazil. She holds a law degree from the University of Sao Paulo and a master’s degree from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in sustainable development. Gisela speaks Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
